About Elvis
Elvis is an 8yo Bay Standardbred gelding who retired from his racing career on 23rd December, 2023 after having 126 starts and earning $276,263 for his owners. He retired due to an offside front suspensory branch injury. This enlarged suspensory branch was managed and raced on for 10 months prior to retiring, but the owners decided to retired Elvis as they thought he was beginning to feel some pain. He does not seem to be affected by this injury now and his gaits are sound.
Elvis’s owner says he is a pleasure to have around, and is very much loved by his owners. He has beautiful manners and is excellent to handle, shoe, worm, tie up, float and do anything with. He has been exposed to farm machinery, vehicles, other animals and children with no issues. He can be paddocked with other horses but can be bossy. Elvis has not been started under saddle but would not take much for someone with experience to educate him in their chosen discipline. His owners would love to see him rehomed to someone that would like to take him out to shows, as they feel he would excel in this area due to his good looks, conformation and lovely movement.
