About Major

Major is a 9yo Bay Standardbred gelding seeking a loving home through the SAQ Adoption Program. Major retired from an impressive racing career in April 2024, boasting 191 starts and earning $168,825 in prize money for his owners.

Now that his racing days are behind him, Major is ready for a new chapter. Major retired sound, he had just become less competitive and had enough of racing. He exhibits excellent ground manners and is easy to worm, float, catch, and shoe and do anything with. He has been exposed to farm machinery, vehicles, animals, and children without any issues, making him a well-rounded and adaptable horse.

Though Major has not been started under saddle yet, his owner is confident that he will excel in any new role with ease under the right guidance. Major has always been a pleasure to drive and holds himself in a nice, relaxed frame, making him an excellent candidate for pleasure harness. His attractive appearance and great conformation also make him highly suited for dressage or showing.
