About Annie

Annie is a gentle and sweet natured 11yo Bay Standardbred mare who didn’t pursue a racing career but has proven to be an absolute delight in every other way.

Purchased from MM Equine Sanctuary in NSW in 2018, Annie was already started under saddle and met all the requirements for her current owners, who had no prior horse experience when they brought Annie (and her companion, Lewie) into their lives.

With her calm demeanor and easy-going nature, Annie is a pleasure to handle. She is great with the farrier, worming, tying up, and floating – always cooperative and easy to work with. She has been exposed to farm machinery, vehicles, other animals, and children without any issues.

Annie has mainly been ridden on the property by her owners and their grandchildren, though she hasn’t been ridden much in the past three years. Annie is in good health and has been enjoying the peaceful life with her best buddy, Lewie. She does get a little anxious when Lewie is out of sight for long periods, so they would make a great pair for someone looking for two companions.

Annie would thrive in a home where she receives lots of love, attention, and gentle training to help her continue to blossom.

Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances, her owners are sadly looking to rehome both Annie and Lewie, ideally together. If you’re looking for a well-mannered, sweet-natured mare who will thrive with a little TLC, Annie could be the perfect fit for your home.
