About Lewie

After retiring from his racing career in January 2018 with 19 starts and $5,960 in prizemoney, Lewie was started under saddle and found his retirement home through MM Equine Sanctuary in NSW, where he was purchased by his current owners.

With no prior horse experience, Lewie (and his companion Annie) quickly became the perfect additions to their lives. Lewie is a pleasure to have around and is always cooperative. He’s great with the farrier, worming, leading, tying up, and floating. He has been exposed to farm machinery, vehicles, other animals, and children without any issues.

Lewie has been ridden primarily on the property by his owners and their grandchildren, though he hasn’t been ridden much over the past three years. Despite this, Lewie is in excellent health and has been happily enjoying a peaceful life alongside his best buddy, Annie.

Lewie would thrive in a home where he receives plenty of love, attention, and gentle training to help him continue to flourish.

Due to a change in circumstances, his owners are looking to rehome both Lewie and Annie, ideally together, as they have formed a strong bond over the years. If you’re looking for a well-mannered, sensible horse with a heart of gold, Lewie could be the perfect companion for your family.
