About Buddy
Buddy is 12yo Bay Standardbred gelding who retired from racing in August 2019 after having 84 starts and earning just over $58,000. Buddy retired sound.
He has a sweet nature and loves people, he is well mannered, good to handle, worm, tie-up, float and catch and do anything with. He is a pleasure to have around. Buddy has been exposed to vehicles, traffic, farm machinery, other animals and children and takes everything in his stride.
Buddy has been under saddle for several years, and has been ridden by all levels of riders, including children. Buddy’s current owner believes Buddy would be perfect for beginners or children, as he is very quiet and sensible. He can be ridden around on a loose rein and has more whoa that go, just happy to plod around. He is also perfect in a cart and has been out on carriage club days with no issues.
Buddy is in good health, he has recently been seen by a chiropractor and had his teeth done. He does however have mild itch, mostly around his ears and face and is currently being treated with calfea oil and rugged.
Buddy is only being rehomed as his owner needs to downsize and is no longer riding and would like to see someone else enjoy this amazing little horse.
