About Gorji
Gorji is a lovely rising 3-year-old bay Standardbred filly who trialled but never raced, with her owners deciding to retire her from the industry after it became clear she was not suited to the demands of racing.
She is now looking for a caring new home through the SAQ Adoption Program where she can begin the next chapter of her life. With her calm, sweet nature and sensible attitude, Gorji is a pleasure to have around. She is easy to handle on the ground, good for the farrier, and well mannered when catching, tying up, floating, and worming. She has also been exposed to farm machinery and vehicles, taking it all in her stride.
Although Gorji has not yet been started under saddle, her willing attitude and steady nature suggest she will take to further education well with patient and knowledgeable handling. As a young horse, she is still very much a blank canvas and would thrive in a supportive home where she can continue to mature, build confidence, and be slowly introduced to life beyond racing.
