Fonzie is a 13yo brown Standardbred gelding who retired from racing in May 2019, after having 34 starts and earning $15,785. Though retired sound, Fonzie’s gentle disposition and willingness to please outshined his speed on the track.

Described by his current owner as a true gentleman, Fonzie is a delight to have around. He possesses great manners and is great to handle, shoe, worm, tying up and float.

Unfortunately, Fonzie suffers from Qld Itch, a condition exacerbated by humidity and wet conditions. His owner hopes to relocate him to an area with a drier climate to provide relief from itching.

Fonzie shines brightest in harness, where he showcases a soft mouth, elegant head carriage, and a graceful stride. With his striking looks and impeccable conformation, Fonzie wouldn’t look out of place in the show ring. While he may have been started under saddle before 2019, Fonzie has primarily enjoyed leisurely pleasure harness work. His owner believes he will adapt quickly to riding with the right guidance.

Fonzie is up-to-date with vaccinations, worming, and dental care (all completed in Feb/March this year), and has just had his feet trimmed. Fonzie is looking for a loving home where he can receive affection and gentle training.
