About Max
Max is a nice natured 9yo Bay Standardbred gelding who retired from racing in December 2024 after an impressive career spanning 110 starts and earning $81,865 for his owners.
He retired sound, but after experiencing a minor bleeding episode in his final race, his owners felt he had given his all and decided it was time for him to enjoy a new chapter in life. Since retiring, Max has been relaxing in the paddock with other retirees, but his owner believes he would thrive in a pleasure home where he can receive the love and attention he deserves.
Max has been exposed to dogs, tractors, vehicles, and children, taking everything in stride with his sensible and easy going temperament. With excellent ground manners, Max is a pleasure to handle in every way. He is great for the farrier, worming, tying up, and floating—always cooperative and respectful.
While he has not yet been started under saddle, he is a blank canvas ready for someone with experience to guide him into his next career.
