About Vicki
Vicki is a lovely natured 10 yo bay Standardbred mare who retired from racing in October 2021 after 25 starts, earning just over $15,000 for her connections.
After her time on the track, she was used as a broodmare and welcomed a filly in October 2023. Now, her owners have decided it’s time for Vicki to find her new beginning through the SAQ Adoption Program.
With her calm temperament, she is a delight to have around. She is easy to handle on the ground, well mannered for the farrier, easy to catch, tie up, float and worm. She is also familiar with farm machinery, vehicles and children, and takes everything in her stride.
Though she hasn’t yet been started under saddle, her steady, sensible nature suggests she will transition well with patient guidance and training. Currently in paddock condition, she is ready to blossom in the right hands and would thrive in a knowledgeable, caring home where she can continue her education and enjoy life beyond racing.
