The Benefits of Membership!
The SAQ has many goals and ideas for the future. We aim to grow our association, and continue to build relationships and rapport with trainers, members, the equine industry and the general public to allow us to promote Standardbreds as great harness racing horses and riding and pleasure horses.

- Sponsorship of Breed classes at Agricultural Shows and the Brisbane RNA Show
- Annual Standardbred State Hacking & Harness Championships, Track to Hack Series, State Dressage Championships, State Show Jumping Championships – CLICK HERE

- Events, seminars, clinics, information days and musters for our members to attend
- Organised Trail Rides, weekend trips, and other social events
- Registration of Pleasure and Performance Standardbreds and Partbred Standardbreds – CLICK HERE

- The SAQ is well established with QLD Show Societies as the governing association for registration of pleasure and performance Standardbreds
- The SAQ continues to provide a vehicle for all Standardbred owners to meet and communicate with each other
- The SAQ is actively seeking new opportunities and ventures to further promote the temperament and versatility of the Standardbred
Membership Plans
Membership with the SAQ runs from the 1st of October to the following 30th of September of a given year. All members are required to pay fees as set at the Annual General Meeting every October.

Junior Membership
Child Under 18 Yeas of AgeJunior members are able to:
- Register a gelding, filly or mare in their name
- Participate in the SAQ Annual Awards
- Participate in the National High Point Competition
- Junior members are not able to:
- Nominate for a committee position
- Vote on issues pertaining to the running of the association
Single Membership
A Person 18 Years or OlderSingle members are able to:
- Register a horse in their name
- Participate in the SAQ Annual Awards
- Participate in the National High Point Competition
- Nominate for a committee position
- Vote on issues pertaining to the running of the association
Family Membership
Family Unit*Family members are able to:
- Register a horse in the family or individual name
- Participate in the SAQ Annual Awards
- Participate in the National High Point Competition
- Nominate an adult family member for a committee position
- Have 2 votes on issues pertaining to the running of the association
- *Special Conditions: A family unit comprises 1 or 2 adults (parents/partners) and up to 5 children (by birth, legally adopted, legally fostered) residing at the same address.
- The child/children must be under the age of 18 years.
- Family members who are 18 years or over, either living at home or residing elsewhere, must secure individual membership in order enjoy the benefits of membership.
Associate Membership
Limited Benefits- Associate members are able to:
- Participate at 2 SAQ events for the price as a member and is insured for these events with SAQ
- Associate members are not eligible to:
- Register a horse in their name
- Participate in the SAQ State Championships
- Participate in the SAQ Annual Awards
- Participate in the National High Point Competition
- Nominate for a committee position
- Vote on issues pertaining to the running of the association.
- This membership is ideal for someone who wishes to join the SAQ to support the work of the Association.
* NOTE: A family unit comprises 1 or 2 adults (parents/partners) and up to 5 children (by birth, legally adopted, legally fostered) residing at the same address. The child/children must be under the age of 18 years. Family members who are 18 years or over, either living at home or residing elsewhere, must secure individual membership in order enjoy the benefits of membership.
